Looks kind of like a boxelder bug?
We use to have an old mill that was loaded with them.
Do they have an orange or red color on their backs at any time?
Do a google search for boxelder and see if you think it matches.

We have these box elder Bugs at my house every fall and then again in the spring. I hate them /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif There every where. I just glad I'm not the only one with them. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Every bug that my kids have ever brought to me that I could not identify, I told them it was a stink bug. They have never picked up on it or wondered why there are so many different kinds of stink bugs. They just drop them and run away. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

We have tons of them here in No. Idaho and we call them Stick Bugs & also Box Elders. They get into everything and are an irritation.
