1958 Ford 961 Powermaster
I have a oil leak coming from where this “Y” shaped part connects to the rear differential. It is the part the lower 3 point lift arm attaches to. The side that is leaking has a little bit of play in it while the other side is dry and tight. I was trying to find a seal/rebuild kit but I can’t find anything and without knowing the correct name for the part can’t search too well.

Guess I'll take a shot since no one else has. I would guess it part of the "draft control" linkage. Hope this helps.

I looked on the Steiner website but couldn’t find anything. I’ll try calling them and see if I can make any progress.

Do a Google search for "Ford New Holland Parts". I picked this site "https://partstore.agriculture.newholland.com/us/parts-search.html?csid=d58f485bb32ed7b861eda2541bd2526b&sl=EN&currency=#epc::home"

Choose search by model and type in 861. Pick the first choice as that's your tractor. Now comes the hard part. Trying to figure out where the part is. There's no three point hitch listed but it's under hydraulic systems. Click on that and go to subsection "Hydraulic lift links & related parts. Click on that and it's there right at the bottom.

Thanks for that info, i didn’t think to look on the new holland site.

I did a little searching on there and came up with this (I have a 961 instead of a 861).
Part #NCB521B stud, lower lift link hanger row crop.

It doesn’t show any oil seals/ o-rings so i might have to stop at the new Holland dealer and see what they say. Or tear into it and see what I find.

My picture of the parts diagram won’t load for some reason. But I did just like you said except I used a 961.

Open this link: Official New Holland Online Parts Store and Online Parts Catalog for New Holland and Ford Tractors. and look in the box lower left, where it says "Row Crop", and believe this is the part you're looking at, part #32 is called a hanger. #33 & #34, are the hanger studs. 35, 36, & 37 are the flat washer, nut, and cotter pin that hold the studs in, on the inside of the axle housing.

That being said, I'd assume that axle housing should be dry on the inside, with no seal around the stud. So, guessing the stud nut may have loosened, but, also guessing you may have an axle seal leaking, due to the oil coming out around that stud.

Maybe Soundguy will pop in here, and check it out, and correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, that is the exact screenshot I was trying to attach. I’ll check it out more and see if the oil is coming from somewhere else. Even if that is not the leak I still need to remove it and see why it is loose (slightly but not right like the other side). The cotter pin and nut have not appeared to move so it must be something worn.

the rear diffy is indeed oil filled and if that nut has come loose, it will need to be tightened before you can check to see if you need a full disassemble or not. if it is the left one, you can get at it fromthe pto shaft hole if you have a small arm. you basically have to set your socket and then wrench in there and manipulate with one hand. and once tight, small turns and probe for the cotter pin hole.

and yes.. that is a part on the rear of a rowcrop.. like a 9 or 7 series machine.
