I said bulb planter but someone else said soil sampler. What do you think?

Pre engine powered post hole digger. You can still buy them today and I've used them. They are slow going.

What do we THINK? Well, I once had to pay for a soil test to determine what kind of septic system to install, and the guy who did it had one of those, so I reckon it's a soild sampler. But if I were planting bulbs it would immediately become a bulb planter.

I had one of those post hole diggers. Where I lived then, about a foot under the topsoil, was sandy soil. It wouldn't hold the sand, even when wet.
At another place the soil was too hard. You couldn't chop it loose like you can with the other style post hole digger.

I have one, it works great until I hit a rock bigger than a golf ball.
