Only time I've seen something like that, it was a one-wheel trailer behind a motorcycle. It let's the trailer lean along with the bike. That one looks to be on a four-wheeled vehicle, so I'm not sure that applies, but maybe it's still a one-wheel trailer?

One of my customers uses something like that behind his 2500 Dmax. He is a avid hunter and it will literally allow any angle between the truck and trailer without binding. I guess he needs it because he has a big pusher type front bumper and a winch that are well worn so he must get in some crazy places.

A standard ball set up will only allow about 15deg of flex, a Bull Dog give maybe 25 deg.

This is only the second one I have seen. I believe he has a custom made weight distribution system that uses the same joints and 3/4" all thread in place of chains.

I like it kind of a modern style pintle hook. I have never seen one like that but can see the advantages of it.

I'm not familiar with but know of the existance of shock absorbing hitches. Cushions the push/pull of the trailer to the tow vehicle. ????? MikeD74T

It is for off road use, pretty much unlimited articulation. Get crazy enough with a standard ball mount and you can bend things or even pop it off.

I saw one of those in a "FOUR WHEELER" magazine a few months ago. It was an offroad trailer for a custom Jeep. It can move practically anywhere.

I have heard of sticking a 1 wheeled traier behind a 4wheeler.

I'm guessing it isn't for offroad, as it wont let the trailer twist with resect to the towing vehicle, unless the trailer suspension has all sorts of articulation.

ps. nevermind, I see were it might let it twist.

It looks very similar to the ones used on motor homes to pull cars ect. They are fully articulating and far less likely to accidently disconnect.

I'm glad I'm not the paranoid type to interpret that to mean that my typical ball mount trailer is likely to disconnect. :)
