Ok, can anyone tell me what this is? Found it while clearing out some land and I have no idea.

That is a long piece of steel, with a wheel like thing on one end and a hinged piece on the other end with some dangly bits hanging off it.

Seriously, I have no idea. I am curious as well.

Whatever it is, when you post it on Craigslist be sure to mention that it is rare and hard to find.

Some bodies grandpa's invention after grandma got under his skin on' a
Saturday night. He found J.D. and a revelation happened. Seriously, don't have a clue, but I thought I would follow with the help of others.

Some funny stuff, can't top that. I thought I had seen it all, but apparently not; no clue.

Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one stumped by this... I'll clean it up a little more to see if there are some manufacturer's markings on it. It doesn't appear to attach to a 3 pt. But who knows......

My dad was always cobbling something together during model changeover, looks like something he made to practice welding.

I thought about it being someone's practice, but then they ususally don't hinge or have bolted parts. Everything is welded solid. I'm thinkin somebody was making something. The disk, (wheel) at the end of the beam though... that is a tough one.

Definitely look like a single use only tool or part of something where the rest is lost .

I've done that myself, throw some half thought idea together to see if what i'm thinking will work.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

You found the world's largest pizza cutter!

Sell it on CL as such and dont forget to mention that its the "world's largest" because people pay extra for stuff like that.

That's what I thought it might be,but possibly "horse-drawn".
Of course whatever it is more than likely missing parts or the rest of it.

Perhaps part of an old planter? I know some of them have an edger like that to give the driver a reference point. That’s the only thing I can think of.

Oh, my dad was always "making something", just what often remained a mystery.

As was mentioned some things are single use and once "used" are often parted out for something else, both my father and father in law did this and we ended up with quite a collection of metal.
