I had a similar experience, I went to work for Ford Tractor in '72 as a Summer job while in college studying automotive technology, it turned into a permanent position. Eleven years later the company downsized the division and , after some stressful time of uncertainty, I was transferred to automotive division building F series pickups. Twice as hard work, crazy hours, and much more money. The company also continued to pay college tuition for me.
I earned my automotive degree as well as a BS in business and retired at 51 with over 32 years of service. A good pension and benefits.
All those years of strenuous exercise held benefits as well, I had gall bladder surgery last week, and the surgeon was very impressed at the great physical shape I am in for a 67 year old.

No, I was not responding to the post about Warren Buffett. It was just a saying I recalled. A skillet licker was low life as I recall. I googled it and now I guess it means a lesbian. :shocked:

Pot lickers and skillet lickers used to be the same. Now skillet lickers are part of the LGBTQ crowd but pot lickers are the same. I am not sure why skillet lickers were reclassified or who decided that. :confused3:
