I am blessed(?) with a wife (who, yes, IS a woman) who claims it more often than is true. IOW, whenever something goes wrong she assumes that it was her fault. Love her.

We make a pretty high end product. We often get people that have the "beer budget/champagne taste" going on. Every single time we have offered to do an order at "their" price so they can evaluate quality/yield we have converted them to a customer willing to pay "our" price.

Last time someone told me to pay him what I wanted to pay, I offered the same amount I remembered paying the last time he'd provided the same service. He wanted more. If he'd have just named his price the first time, I'd have gladly paid it and not felt like he thought I was trying to rob him.

We used to have the same thing goin' on.

Our reply was "we would certainly do so if and when they were able to meet our quality."

Yeah, I believe it's a genetic trait.
I doubt it would be possible to breed it out of them either.

As for a favorite saying, one that I saw on a pilot's shirt at a fly-in always stuck with me.

"My wife said that if I went to another fly-in she was going to divorce me.
