Decades ago there used to be a yacht in San Diego named LAKAOIA, Love and Kisses and Other Indoor Activities.

Insiders used to laugh and make fun...

We had one in the US Coast Guard Aux fleet that typically relayed its name this way in official comms or with marine operator (radiophone)

numeral 2, numeral 2 lying on its side, letter P

Read 2 on its side like a brand... "Lazy 2"

yep.. there's about 10 re-wordings of it i've now seen after googling it, all basically pointing towards the same meaning.

I'm glad to know where that quote came from. I've used a version of it for years among colleagues when they challenge my results...

I had always thought it was from some scientific Nobel Laureate, but Arthur Conan Doyle would make sense, too.
