Not sure if this is more "Tell us something we don't know" or "Favorite Quote or Saying", but since you brought this up here, I have one: "If half the stuff on your boat isn't broken by the end of the race day, you built it too heavy."

This quote is paraphrased by something I heard one of the boat builders say in the 2010 America's Cup, where the massively-overpowered and tippy Oracle beat Alinghi in light air, after having debated canceling the race due to "high winds" that weren't really very high by old standards.
