What Kind of Bugs are These?

My wife and I recently moved into our new home and we have noticed a rather small bug that I don't know what it is. Description:

1.) Very small, but larger than a no-see-um
2.) Dark red color
3.) remarkable resilient to squashing
4.) I think they can fly.
5.) Seem to like bathroom and kitchen areas. (What bug doesn't?)

I can try and get some digital photos tommorow, but they are so small, I would imagine that even with the MACRO function on the camera, the detail would be poor.

Any ideas, and more importantly, any ideas on how to get rid of them wouldl be very appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Call Orkin or Terminex. For a monthly fee they can do a good job riding you of bugs you see, and the ones you don't know you have. We use them because in our area we get lots of Brown Recluse spiders. I found one a month in my house, until I used professional extermination services.
