My wife was cleaning and said she found it under the sofa. Since she cleans about every other 2 minutes....we're very baffled as to where it might have come from. (I might be embellishing the 2 minute comment...more like every other day she's got the vaccume out)

anyways, here's some pictures of it. I said maybe it was caught in the edge of the rug and just now worked loose?

No clue what this is. Kind of tan in color and oval shaped. There are NO markings on it what so ever.....none.

Probably should mention it's maybe 3/4" long and 1/4" thick? Without having measured, it's something near that

And she is asking you what you are taking behind her back? :D

Could be any number of things. I'd not take it just to find out.

:) :)

Take it to a pharmacy, they will identify for shure.
I have noticed that police use them all the time around here.

My wife works in a pharmacy and says it looks like a calcium pill...

I don't know, but it looks like the dog in your avatar picture took one.

The PDR (Physicians' Desk Reference) is still published and they used to be so expensive that I could understand small police departments not having their own and using local pharmacists, but larger departments usually have several, and the PDR is considerably cheaper now. For those unfamiliar with it, the PDR has actual size and color photos of every FDA regulated pill and capsule made I guess. I know in my career, I never saw one that couldn't be identified in the PDR.

But just for a guess in the current case, I too would think that pill is a multi-vitamin.

Scratch it and smell it. Vitamin pills have a distinct odor, at least to me. The sniff test was also the way I got through my organic qualitative analysis class.
