someone sid that its probaly an AC machine make sure the rods are made for AC or AC-DC, the rods they buy at my work are dc only, but if got one gas one diesel and a new electric MILLER dc stick/tig suitcase thats smaller than a bread box but welds better than any of them. A small AC machine will discorage you unless you get the correct rods and the correct size. I use 3-32 5p+(6010) 1/8 5p+, 3/32 7018, and 1/8 7018. i rarely use the 1/8 7018 unless welding 1/2" or thicker. 1/8 6010 and 3/32 7018 burn at the same amps. 75-100. any hotter and its harder to control the puddle. if the rod is glowing orange and melts off a couple inches long its too hot. if you weld the rods down to an inch or two it should barely glow in the light. thats still too hot for out of position work but will lay down good on a flat weld.
Just buy some rods and make some sparks.
