I have been looking at a used NEW HOLLAND 270TL Front End Loader for my 1993 Ford 3930 Tractor. Can anyone tell me if that will fit a Ford 3930
I cannot say about the 270tl but for reference, our Ford 3910 (55hp diesel, type II) came with a 776 stock Ford loader. That loader is simply 'great'. It's reasonably lightweight for the heavy lifting it does, has never leaked and lifts pretty much anything our 55hp tractor 'should'. I've even lifted 1900 lb bales with it this year, but barely. Way(!) too heavy for that type of weight at the end of your loader, but simply yanked the bales off the trailer down to the ground and then sort of slid the bales using the baler. I've only seen one sell on Auctiontime or BigIron the past year and went pretty decently, $1900, with out the valve nor pump, which is decent $ for such a small and incomplete loader.
The photo will give you an idea of mounts:

Evidently there are other Ford type II tractor owners that are very keen on this loader given the bid. Ford did their job right with both the tractor and the loader as I couldn't ask to improve on much with either, very happy with that for an all around small ranch tractor.
As for attachment, the 776 has somewhat of a 'quick' attachment as it can be detached, but not really as the hoses do not pull free. The hydraulics to run the tractor are run from the front, with the front pulley attached to a pump. Nothing uses or touches the hydraulics in back. You can search on Ebay for the type of pump for the 3900 series tractor as they're common for parts/replacements and very likely you'll need one no matter what loader you put on it, unless you find a loader that comes with it. I'd never waste rear hydraulics on a loader as that severely limits the long term use-ability of your tractor.
If someone else has been able to put the 270TL modded to an older Ford, please chime in. I have a Ford 4000 I'd like to put one on and curious if I could fab quick mounts to fit - and betting it could be done. ???
