Not trading the BX1500. It will still be used to mow and for smaller FEL work.

If the B7800 is only 150 lbs less capacity (FEL) than the L3400, then I may be looking closer at the smaller tractor. A larger, heaver tractor may be better for pushing dirt, but I would think either one of these would be much better than the little BX1500.

Here is the first quote I have gotten on the Kubotas. No reply so far from a Mahindra dealer.

Do these prices look like they are decent?

I am thinking that for the additional $3,400, the L3400 may be worth the cost.

I bought a 2008 Kioti DK40se 4X4(41.5 hp gear)with a FEL & loaded rim guard R-4 tires this past spring with the Kioti $1000 cash rebate this past spring for $18,000 out the door price.coobie

Take a look at the Montana's. I got a 3644 which is 38.5 HP shuttle with a loader tooth bar and filled tires for 15,000. It also include dual remote hydrualics in the rear and a real open platform. 4 cylinder Mitsubishi motor, very smooth. When I compared to Kubota and Mahidra, there was no comparison for the money and quality and features. Take a look you will like what you see.

Does Montana have HST? Price is nice, but for the FEL work, I really want HST. My BX1500 has HST (or it's versions of HST) and I have become so accustomed to using the FEL with it, that I do not want to have to relearn to use gears. I think for a tractor that will primarilly be used for FEL work, HST is a requirement.

Now if I were only using it fo rmowing... different story.

With the free FEL deal Kioti is offering on the CK35 you should be able to get an HST model for very close to the price you were quoted on the B7800.

The Montana's do have a HST also in all models in the r series 28 , 38.5, or 43 HP. The Hst are about $800 higher. They offer a lot of tractor for the money. The Kioti ck 35 is also a very good deal, although they don't have quite as many features and have 3 cylinder Daedong verse the 4 cylinder Mitsibushi. The mitsibishi is smoother.

Just got a quote on a Montana R series, 2840HST w/FEL. $19,500.00 With $1,000 factory rebate and another $750 if I came up with my own financing.

So $17,750 for a 28 HP 2840HST Montana, 4X4, W/FEL.

I think $15,900 for the 30 HP L2800HST Kubota 4X4, w/FEL is sounding much better all the time.

Never heard from the local Mahindra dealer. Have not looked at Kioti yet.

Don't make a move until you've checked out Kioti: CK25, CK27, CK30, CK35 and DK35. Free loader on the CK35 right now. You want a ground engagement machine. Kioti is the best of the lot. Heaviest except for Branson (also a good choice).

Whatever tractors you are considering, go to the dealer, sit on them, try them out, and decide which tractor fits you the best and is most natural for you to operate. And while you are about it, evaluate the dealer to see which you are most comfortable with. The dealer is probably as important to your decision as the tractor.

one thing though.. i see you mentioned pushing dirt... keep in mind that box blades pull dirt great.. but you have to be carefull pushing dirt... a scut / cut and a rear blade is not a bull dozer. Those drag links are great in tension.. not so great under compression.. looking at the geometry.. etc..

I have a 2003 Kubota BX1500D. 48" MMM, FEL and box blade. This little beast has done everything I have needed it to do until now. I have a bit of dirt work to do along a dry stream bed on my 3 acres. The BX1500 just can't seem to move much dirt. It mows like a champ and moves dirt in the FEL just fine, but pushing dirt with the box blade is too much for it to handle.

I would like to move up to an L3400HST, but a B7800 may be more in my budget.

However, Mahindra and Kioti appear to have a possible cost advantage. (not to mention similar colors!)

Does anyone know what Mahindra or Kioti models would be in alignment with the Kubota's I mentioned? Any other thoughts on other brands with similar size/power?

The NH T1520 had been advertised somewhere as a possible model to consider, but I am not sure that would be at a cost advantage.

Any suggestions and/or comments are appreciated.
