i bet a hydraulic driven generator would be nice.
Or perhaps an optional heavy duty alternator with an decent inverter. Sure there would be times when you would need a real genny, but if speced right it could be a roaming outlet on a job site.

i was thinkin of the people down south we live in huricane alley louisiana/miss/alabama coast/florida. that nice generator would come in handy deing driven my a hydraulic pump from a deisel engine. now if you combine that with a really high output alternator you could run a 5kw generator off the hidraulics and run to 2kw inverters off the alternator that would give you almost 10kw of power that is on wheel/4x4 and can de driven where ever it's needed. and with all that being driven by the main source(deisel engine) you can fun it all day and night because a deisel can run as long as you have fuel and coolant .i think that would be a big seller with us people down south plus the law enforcment agencies /emergency response people too. the cops and emergency people could run a boat load of lights off it for emergency lighting or power thier office off of it.my buddy had a ice cream selling buisness and he still has both his 2.5 kw inverters that he had used in both his vans. he would run his freezers off them while driving around. he did use them for one hurican(katrina) and he ran both inverters off his regular output alternator in the van so i could imagine what you could do with a high output alternator and a hydro, generator. when i had plans to get my rtv me and my brother was gonna rig up a hydo pum to run a generator but the plans fell through on the rtv.i still plan on getting one and when i do i'll have the generator set up and that will be another thing i can offer rtv owners.

I do think Kubota could sell an RTV thats even more of a tractor. Along the lines of a ToolCat, but not so unGodly expensive. I've had several people ask about PTO's, 3pt's, etc.

with th rtv's hydraulic outputs on the rear i don't see why they don't have a boat load of stuff to hook to them. i know if i made a machine with the cabilities of the rtv i would be going attachment crazy.there is no limit to what you could hook to that thing.

Not to change the subject but while we are on RTV's, I am thinking about pulling my NH 256 dolly wheel hay rake with mine. It weighs in at about 1,000lbs. I know it can pull it, but do you think pulling 1,000 lbs for four or five hours in 90 degree weather would hurt it? I would be running in low range at about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle. What do you think?

Personally, I don't think it would hurt a thing. Like any other piece of equipment, just keep a eye on the " Temp " guage . Keep it at approx 1/2 throttle, And if possible, if it wouldn't get to fast or in a bind. I would run in " M " , if I could, that way you can keep the RPM's down that much more. It being a diesel, should not hurt a thing at all..... Just have to test fire it and see how the temp thing goes !!!
I wouldn't be scared to do it, that's for sure !!!!!!

I pulled an 8'X16' haywagon with about 80 pallets on it about 2 miles the other day and it did that pretty well. This rake doesn't weigh near that much, and all my fields are flat. I think the only possible problem may be getting loose hay caught up in the driveshafts? I don't know, I am going to try it.

Like mentioned earlier in this thread. Expand the work side of the RTV, make it a mini Unimog. I own a tractor but if I could have a 3pt hitch and a rear pto I would change to a RTV.

Cummins Luke

I use my RTV to haul feed to the auto deer feeders ALL year round. That being said, I can put up to 8 55 gal. drums slap full of corn, in a heavy duty trailer, & drag it all over the swamps & plantations. This is the HOT summer months also when the weather gets into the high 90's & very, very humid. NEVER have we had any troubles with the power, or the temp on the RTV. Dont know the exact weight of the bbls, but they are extreamly heavy.
On another note, might want to get in touch with member tommy 4x4, he built my boot savers for my machine. And they will help very much keeping the hay from getting to the front axles. He builds really heavy duty items, and the boot savers he sells is so much bigger, will cover and protect more than any other on the market .... He sells them in shiney aluminum or black steel >>>>>>> They are a great investment for anybody who uses his RTV in working conditions or heavy duty, rough terrain hunting >>>>>>.
