What Oil/fluid should I use

   / What Oil/fluid should I use #11
I notice my YM336D service manual recommends 30wt (and only 30wt) for anything above 50F. It doesn't even mention 15w-40.

Is 15w-40 new? Is it a safe replacement for straight 30wt?

Yes you can run even 5w-40 in a syn and be fine. That oil was not around in 1980! I would never run straight 30Wt at 55F. That stuff is like Honey and will take forever to flow at that temp. 15w-40 will flow like 15W cold and 40W hot.

Thanks for the advise, I find the Hy-Guard hydraolic oil in the JD store, it is expensive but it make the trick and I am sure it will work.
I bought my tractor about a month a go, I change the oil of the engine and filter, also I change the fuel filter, but I left behind the transmition for the future.
The filters I find in Chile are:
Oil : Mann W811/80
Air : Mann C1430 it is a little bigger in the outside diameter, the center diameter it is ok and the hight it seal good because is rubber and a beat high from the original
Fuel: Fleetguard FF5260

Thanks, .
Some one from the end of the world

We have talked about this many times. Make dure that no dirt will go around that filter. Hoye tractor has told us that many other filters that seem to fit still pass lots of dirt, and that there are no store availible filters that are availible that are a direct fit. I personally would order a lifttime supply of filters from hoye, to take advantage of the high cost fo shipping to SA.

Or go to a local yanmar store or get the equivalent JD filter if there is a similar air filter structure on a sister JD tractor.
