What price do you pay for gallon of milk?

What price do you pay for gallon of milk in your local store? Here in my town a gallon of milk is between 2.65- 2.80.

I don't know, for my wife does all the grocery shopping. I do know I pay 0.39 for a first class stamp at my local post office -- how much is a stamp in your neighborhood?

They say "Timing is everything". You sure hit a nerve with this post.

Last night I was heading out to grab a newspaper. There's a gas station about 1/2 mile up the road. I went there. The Mrs. suggested I go to the store to grab a gallon of milk since we were out. I got it at the gas station. It was $3.39 there. She went BALISTIC when I got home. "WHY ON EARTH DID YOU PAY THAT MUCH. It's $.70 cheaper at Kroger".

Kroger is 14 miles from the house. Truck gets about 14 MPG. (1 gallon fuel EACH WAY, X $2.77= $5.64 to save $.70. Hmmmm.......... My wife needs to be in Washington D.C.)

I had to go thru this discussion with my wife several times the first few years we were married. She'd drive all over town picking up this item here and that one there saving as much as .75 on each. Then one day, besides asking her about gas and wear and tear on her car, I tried to get her to figure out what her time was worth........she's still a bargain hunter, but now she tries to keep them all in the same store or at least the same area. 2% Milk $2.69 at the local Hy-Vee yesterday.

The cost of Milk? Who cares! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif My kids have eased back on drinking milk and now go after OJ like it was water. I bought three gallons of OJ at almost $5 a gallon! It was a third of the bill when I made a "quick" stop at the store the other day! I'm sure the OJ will be gone by this weekend....

Depends when/where we buy it. Kroger often has half gallons 10 for 10 or 5 or 6 for 6. Normal price is $2.59. Wal-Mart is usually around $2.25. Wal-mart in another town (that I pass on my way home from work) is $1.89. If we need it and I run to the little market down the road from the house it is $3.89. Needless to say we try to avoid buying milk - or anything for that matter - from there. Usually do w/o until we go to town for something else.
