I try to use the Weather Channel, until the ads get so heavy, I give up and go to my local TV station.

Leave that up to my wife plus I use my arthritis to gage weather changes. It's always right... We have a Davis Instrument's weather station outside with a readout inside and that gives up the very close local weather, plus it's fun to observe.

I find that Weather Underground has the most accurate forecasts for me on the south end of Whidbey Island. But I think they got sold because the site is now really slow and even though I keep changing my station to one that is closer to me every time I use the site it changes the station to one that is farther away so I have to pick my station every time.
I used to use WU years ago, but found the same thing happening for me too, it would keep auto-assigning a station that was 100 mi. or so away, and not especially relevant to weather here. This was around the time when they added the graph, which to me was too cluttered to get much useful from.
If I'm not mistaken, the Weather channel owns WU, so their content should be similar.

I have bookmarks for Weather Channel, WU and NOAA...my "go to" is WC with NOAA in 2nd place.

Well there is that method too. We have an Ambient Weather station, it's "predictions" are generally quite a bit off, but it is interesting to observe. My only gripe about it is that the batteries don't seem to do anything to hold settings, so every time there's a power blip I have to go thru and reset everything.

I don't know if there's a way to stream that without a cable package that includes it, if there is I haven't found it.
Wife watches something called Weather Nation which is a step above useless.

They were bought by IBM a while back, and were recently (2023) sold to Francisco Partners, along with weather.com. Yes, I agree that they can be slow. When you get to the right station, you might try setting a bookmark for that particular station. E.g.

All the best,

My issue with them wasn't so much it not remembering what station I'd selected as it was stations any closer not consistently being available. Sometimes you could select them, othertimes not. If your selected one wasn't available it would default to another more distant one.
This was several years ago, and they might have gotten that worked out now.

I use a combination of sources including the NWS, Weather Underground, local TV forecasts and my own weather instruments.

I've been a trained Skywarn weather spotter for the NWS for more than 30 years. Skywarn is a "boots on the ground" network of local spotters that report weather conditions directly to a NWS office.

I use a Davis Instruments weather station installed on a hilltop on my property. It relays data to PC equipment at the house and uploads it to an internet site.

There are thousands of these Davis stations located in the US, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean which transmit local weather conditions to the NWS.

My primary source of weather information is the NWS. I particularly like their hourly strip chart forecasts available for every city in the US:

I google "City" 10 day forecast as a starting point. You can also choose hourly for about a 24hr window of what to expect.

If I'm out fishing/hunting/farming etc I often bring up myradar app on my phone. It uses the gps to point to my location. I can zoom in or out and see storm clouds approaching via a doppler look. Pretty accurate for me.

For WU app users -

I have a WU widget on my phone screen which is set to show my home station. As far as I can tell, that has to be set up when you add the widget; you can tap the "location" setting and have it either be GPS (it will change with your location) or you can set a specific station.

Otherwise, when the app is open, you can tap the menu button at top left and select a station from history, favorites (star), or search; after you've visited a station you can star it for later if you want.
