kubota L3010dt
well i finally got my tractor today a L3010 dt with a fel and bb60 woods mower, i want to get a box blade but with the r4tires the 60" (5') blade is a tad shorter than the width of the tires. the dealer has told me that a 72"(6') box would wrk, I read the bota manual and it says the max box blade to put on this tractor is 52" a 60" blade would be pushing it, will a 72" work can this tractor handle this and why does bota say only 52"

your comments are appreciated

thanks

Depends on what kind of material you're trying to move with it (loose sand, gravel, dirt vs. hard packed clay), how big a bite you take at a time (how far the blade is tilted forward), how many (if any) of the ripper or scarifier teeth are lowered into the ground, and how deep, and how much traction your tires get.

Cause they're kinda conservative; don't want you to get mad at them if you get into a situation where your tractor won't pull the blade (in my personal opinion/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif).

Personally, I'd want the 72" blade for that tractor; your terrain and conditions may be different. And I have a cousin who's using a 72" box blade on a New Holland TC29D.

My dealer reccomended a box blade that is 6" wider then the tractor tires. (6" wider total, box extending beyond tires 3" on each side). In the case of my L-35 that was 66".(5'6") Gannon offers a box this size, I don't know about any other manufactors. I asked about a 72" box, but he reccomended against it. I'm glad I took his advise, when the 66" is completely full it's about all the L-35 can handle.

Hi, I have L3010hst and I just bought a 6' box for mine. The dealer said I couldn't tear it up, give me time. I haven't had the opportunity to use it much except for grading the drive and it was pulling it fine. I had the box full of gravel and running over the back and it seemed to do just fine. I plan on doing lots of dirt work when I get more time. Hope this helps.
