What Size Bucket To Get ???

I would get the smaller bucket. Unless all u plan on doing is moving dirt around than there isn't a big use for a 6ft bucket. You will also get more digging force out of the smaller bucket than with the big and still get to compact the trash in your dumpster. What could be better? /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I agree with Hayden, go with what you need right now. Get the 60" bucket. Down the road, should you ever need a larger bucket, your easily going to be able to add it. The ability to compact the trash is reason enough to stick with what works best. Rat...

I'd get a beefy 60" bucket for hard work and a lighter weight 72" bucket for bulk items like mulch and snow. Sounds like you already did the research and pricing. If its in your means, get both. Quick attach systems make it so easy to switch implements, you'll wonder what you ever did without it.

Henro,
I think a quick attach system makes you super productive and more likely to change implements often. For what its worth, here's a link to a video of my Power Trac quick attach system in operation(15 seconds, 218K, about a minute to download at 28.8, Windows Media Format). It illustrates the productivity advantage of a quick attach system on any tractor, front or rear. I find myself actually looking forward to changing implements. I changed implements about a dozen times in 4 hours today while working at our Little League park; spread material with bucket, moved railroad ties with pallet forks, hauled material with bucket, moved telephone poles with pallet forks, compacted pitcher's mound with bucket, edged diamond with slicing attachment, picked up sliced sod with bucket, moved lawn roller across park with pallet forks, etc... just kept doing lots of little jobs, getting them done and moving to the next task( and I never got off the tractor ). Doesn't require advanced planning to maximize use of the implements. You can just switch and go.

Hope this helps. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Hi MossRoad,

Yep, I have looked at your site a number of times...are all those front loader quick attach systems that easy? I just assumed that simplicity like that was a power trac exclusive... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

With my luck...well...still with I had one! And the extras as well!

I agree with the rest of you, you want 72" to cover your wheel tracks in snow dirt etc. If narrower is important i would agree look for a narrow buck also.

Wheel tread settings with ags on the back for the TC35D is 47.5" min. A 60" bucket will easily cover the tracks if thats important for you. Its more important for me to cover my tracks with a rear implement. A 72" boxscraper is a must for me to not only cover my wheel tracks, but also for the much needed weight. Rat...

The width specs aren't correct on NH website (imagine that),they have the 29 & 33 being 7" wider.
I've got R-4 and it is around 70" wide and R-1 are 2.5" narrower so a 72" bucket is minimum to cover track.

I just grabbed the specs from the NH brochure. I assumed it was at minimum widths because they sure seemed narrow. Still, having the much needed narrow bucket easily superseeds covering your wheel tracks. Now, perhaps what would work really well would be to have the 72" bucket and get a backhoe with a 12" bucket. Not only would this do an even better job of compacting, but you would have even more fun smashing garbage. Rat...

RaT,
Actually the JD 950 I have just sold has a backhoe with it.
I have owned this package for 2 years in April and I have dug 1 hole with the backhoe.
Photo attached.
Owning a backhoe is definatly nice, but when it sits for almost a year untouched, it just isn't a good investment. At least for me.
