I have a little Mahindra 2216 Gear tractor with FEL and I want to buy a set of Disc Harrows for it. I'll primarily be using the discs for my little garden and for food plots on our hunting property. What size would you recommend? My tractor is 53.5" (4'-5.5") wide.
In September of last year I used an old set of 5' bush and bog harrows to disc up some food plots and my little tractor yanked those harrows around like they were nothing. I have no idea what they weighed, but they were old and heavily made discs with a 5' telephone pole strapped to the top for weight.
For my tractor, should I stick to a single gang bush and bog type harrow or go with a double gang set? What are the pros and cons of each type? If anyone has a brand preference for my size tractor, please share. I'm definitely not opposed to buying used also.
