Remember that with a tandem disk, you can carry a bit of the weight if it is cutting too deep. This will give you better traction also. In my opinion, it is better to have too much disk than not enough as long as it is within reason. I wouldn't get one that was less than the width of my tractor nor would I get a light duty angle iron frame one.
Go ahead and get a good solid box frame heavy disc with at least 22" diameter blades. You will pay a bit more for it , but those little TSC angle frames are just too flimsy to carry the weight of a good set of disc gangs without warping or breaking over time, especially if you hit a few underground obstacles like roots, stumps or rocks.
