I am interested in a Boomer. I have a Massey 50 26hp. I was looking at an MF 1533.

I like the NH Boomer. Had an old 4N and loved it. What would be the same sized one and it's cost? Need an FEL.

Purpose:
6 acres, brush hog, horses, road grading, earth moving, manure.

mffarmall,

The 1533 is a nice size tractor, but hard to compare with NH in my opinion. If you look at the dimensions, (horsepower aside) I think you will find that the 1533 is a little smaller than the Class 3 TC 35,40, and 45s; but larger than NH Class 2 TC 29,31,33, and 34s.

What I am finding that I like is the wide track of the TC 35 relative to the length. I guess this is because I have some hills on my property and am looking for a tractor with a very stable platform. (my wife has said she wants to feel comfortable if she drives it....)

If you are just comparing HP then look at the TC 33...

I've used an 8N but not sure how that compares to a 4N, now I have a TC30 gear tranny and I find it is a lot like the old 8N. Sits a little higher, operates easier but same type of feel, if that makes sense

Just curious

I'm familiar with 2N, 9N, 8N, NAA, but I've never heard of a Ford 4N. Is it from the 2,9,8 N family? When was it made?

Thanks

I was wondering about the 4N too. I figured he meant a 4000? It was a mid-40hp machine. I know diesel, but maybe available in gas too? Looked sort of like a slightly larger NAA.
