What size Kubota for round bales?

LOL, nice 4x4 straw bales they have there...
We have moved 5x4 (4' diameter, 5' long) round bales with a B7500, but it was all that it wanted to do. The L3830 is happier with them.

I particularly like that the tractor is on a hill and the loader looks to max height. Sure looks like a recipe for disaster to me.

I stopped by another Kubota dealer the other day just to see if he had a M5660 but he did not. We sat down and spec'd out what I was wanting and his price was right on the money with the first dealer at $32500. A big plus with this latest dealer is that he will consider trading all three of my used tractors, the Ford 4630, Ford 2000 and the 8N. Another plus is that he is only 15 minutes away compared to 45 minutes away with the other dealer. The only downside to the closer dealer is his service department which, I've heard, isn't that good.

I'm going to have both dealers look at my trades and see what their bottom lines are.

I just purchased a 1000 hour t4.75 New Holland cab for close to that money Houser. If you could find a nice low hour M7040 or M7060 in a cab that would be an option. They don't come up that often in lower hours. Same for the New Holland. That's why I got it.

Your New Holland with a cab sure would be nice when it's 95° or 10° outside when feeding.

One dealer had a used L4701 but I ruled it out because it was too light. I wouldn't rule out a good used Kubota in the size I need.

If you are going to bale a lot of hay I would go with the M70 series for the cab. Not quite as nimble as a MX but more capable. I've put about 10 hours on the 75 bush hogging and finish mowing. So far so good. Not the best for finish mowing due to the size but my property is open and rolling. Very stable on the hills.

Thanks for your input.
I have someone else make the hay but I haul it to the barns and stack it in there. I usually put up and feed about a hundred rolls a year.
The cows keep the pastures pretty clean after the hay is made so what brush hogging I do is mostly for weed control or looks. A cab would be nice especially when it's hot like the last few days but I really can't justify the extra cost. If I had to mow all 120 acres, I'd sure would have a climate controlled cab. :)

I have a L3830GST w/LA723 FEL it handles 4 x 6 bales (1200+) very well that includes stacking and unstackling. Being a Grand it has about 1000 lb additional chassis weight which helps a lot to keep the tail from wagging the dog. But I don稚 think I would like to try it with a smaller model.
