Hi,

I have a Massey Ferguson 35X tractor with a 5 foot slasher, the problem is I seemed to have misplaced the PTO shaft from it.

I need to find a replacment, I did a rough measurment and came up with around 1230mm in length.

The thing I am unsure about is what thickness shaft I need to handle the power and is the spline setup pretty much standard or do I need a specific type to suit the tractor?

Thanks

Hi,

When I last looked at the tractor both ends on the tractor end and slasher end looked the same. Does that sound about right?

Another question.. Is there any issues with using a shaft that has a rating of 100hp behind the MF35? Assuming it is 1/38" 6 spline? Will the bigger shaft cause any issues?

Thanks

Yes, a lot of them are the same on both ends, others have a round bore on the implement with a shear pin. I can't see any problems using a more HD shaft.
