What Size Scrape Blade

MMH; You will save money and get better hydraulic cylinders buying them from Brian @ Fit-Rite Hydraulics (Mtnviewranch). He builds welded cylinders which IMHO are superior to the tie rod cylinders that LP will supply.

I looked at both RB3796 and the RBT3796 and went with the RB and it does everything I need in our sandy soil. I am ordering skid shoes for it. My tractor is an LS XR4046 HC and at 46 HP it handles the 8' blade easily.

Rick, skid shoes and play around with the draft control. Get that dialed in and you will think that you have a different implement that requires minimal operator input. ;)

Thanks Brian. I ordered the skid shoes right after I got the blade but, the guy at dealer failed to get order placed with LP. Hope to have them in a week or so.

I have been playing and "learning" the draft control and your top and side hydraulic cylinders really help as well. I have yet to actually tilt the blade itself.

Hoping that LS get busy and completes their 3rd remote kit for my XR soon so I can order the angle cylinder, for the blade, from you.

+1 on fact that both RB and RBT have blade tilt.

Right you are.

They must have changed something. The T on their blades used to mean tilt?

Wonder why a MFG would make two blades, same HP ratings, but totally different designs and looks?

RBT series blades have full hydraulic capability. While they are both rated for the same HP machine, the RB has no gross weight rating to be used behind where as the RBT35 series is rated to be used being a 9500lb machine. This can make a HUGE difference. As mentioned earlier, look at the moldboard, not even close as far as structural integrity. The gross weight rating was why I ended up with a 45 series unit. Using it behind a 75hp machine, but at 12,000lbs the 35 & 40 series blades just didn't provide any fudge factor for what it was getting used with. And I learned the hard way (costly) that when things bend, you get told that you abused it and tough luck, so I didn't want to go through that again.

I wouldn't hold my breath, I've talked to the LS guy that is supposed to know about these things and it didn't sound any to promising. You can always add a diverter or 2.

I currently am working on an XR4155HC and when we get done, he is going to have 7 sets of rear remotes as well as float function capability for his side links as well as a
3rd function for his loader. ;)

I get to abuse my blade. But my 5000# of tractor with r1ss and 34hp ain't ever gonna bent the kk HD
