I have read just about all the posts for the last year and now know that a 5' brush hog will work better for me than a 4'. I am wondering about York Rakes. Input?

I have asked this question in the past and the concensus seemed to be 72 inches. Obviously 60 inches would also be OK but a 21hp tractor should be able to pull a 4ft box blade, 4 ft bush hog, 5ft finish mower and 6 ft landscape rake.

I'm in the market myself for one. Just missed a barely used 6ft Landpride with gauge wheels for less than $600. Sold before I saw the ad. Am now thinking of a new cheaper brand with wheels.

A york rake is a powered PTO rake right? A landscape rake is a different animal.

People often call any landscape rake a York Rake much as people refer to facial tissue as Klenex regardless of the brand.
York makes landscape rakes, not powered and so do many others.
Here's a link to some York landscape rakes.

Oh cripes, I was thinking harley rake. If sizing a york rake as Kiotijohn linked I would be sure to consider the length when angled so that the angled rake still covers your tracks.

I have a 6' rake that works real nice behind my CK20HST. You need at least this length if you want to run any kind of angle at all.

I also pull a 5' Box Blade, but you have to be careful not to take too much at a time.

Great information. I guess if 6 foot is okay, I can borrow my Dad's. It is too big for our Kubota subcompact tractor but glad to know it will fit on the CK 20!

I have a Lienbach 6'. My CK 20HST has no problems pulling it till you load it down real heavy and at that point you need the FEL to move the pile. According to the Kioti site 72" is with in the implement limitations for this model. Plus the 6' will have enough wieght to break the soil or even a packed driveway /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
