what spark plugs????

ok this has been alot harder to find than i thought it would be! i have a 69 135 perkins ag3 152 gas i cannot find the proper spark plug for this tractor. i have read that the serial number dictates plug reach and plug but i cannot find this info any help would be appriceated thanks.

AG3.152 plugs are Champion N12Y for serial numbers from 15061A and up

I looked at the tractor data link u sent and it doesn't show the plugs for the three cylinder just the continental 4 cyl motors

I sent that link so you could see how to find your serial number on the tractor not the plugs. :confused3:

I see what you mean about the serial number you found and they do start with 9a. Maybe Travlitt can explain where to look for the number he gave you.

Massey Ferguson Tractor Parts - New MF Parts

I've ordered parts from this company all with good success and they show 2 different plugs for your engine. You'd have to measure the reach or threads. One has 3/4" and the other 3/8" autolite. It says if not sure use the shorter.

Maybe you had better call Massey Ferguson 135 Tractor Parts - Yesterday's Tractors and talk to them about your perkins motor. I will dig up another site for you as well.

Ok perfect thank you! this may be a silly question, if i counted the threads in the hole do you think i could match them to the number of threads on the plug? and that be sufficient

Just called yesterdaystractors and the guy didnt impress me to much! told me that im over complicating the situation just to buy the shortest reach plug, so i proceeded to tell him that i would like to have the correct plug call me crazy but i want it to be right. so i told him thanks and went on my way. needless to say he didnt know either.

take one of your current plugs to your local NAPA store. i bet they have one that at will work.

I have decided since it has a autolite 216 in it which is a 7/16 in reach now that I will stick to a 7/16 in plug since I am having trouble finding correct specs just gonna go with a little hotter plug I got autolite 437 to help with burn the deposits of the gas these days (my mechanic buddy told me to)
