Make note on the 7018 rods...I had some problems with some that I bought to try out (first time). I use a Lincoln buzz box. They laid a pretty weld but acted funny and popped and stuff. Asked about them on a welders forum and they suggest looking for 7018 AC rods. They are made for AC welders and the forum guys said that most 7018s work better in DC mode. I found some Hobarts and they work 10 times better than the others.
