I got a pig's tail once. I believe it was the first Christmas after the wife and I were married. It was pretty fresh and had no pig attached. Wife's aunt gave it to me as revenge for a practical joke. I forget what the practical joke was.

Kimber Custom TLE II !!! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
That's a .45 pistol for the uninitiated. I'm a happy boy. But I'm more happy watching my kids play with all the stuff they got. Man, I don't remember getting SOOOO many toys when I was little. They sure have alot of stuff nowa days.

Merry Christmas everybody!

I got a pig on a leash for my birthday once. My dad had a sense of humor. Took a lot of work to find a home for it.

This morning over breakfast I looked at my wife and said, "dahlin' we can look at this two ways. One, Christmas morning is just like every Sunday morning. Or two, we get to celebrate Christmas fifty three times a year."

I find Christmas morning a comfort. It's a time to look around and be appreciative for all that we have.....and don't have.

We'll go do some Christmas visiting later this morning. Then this evening there will be kids and family over.

That is all great.

But I do like Christmas morning. It is a comfort. It's comforting working in the kitchen with my wife close enough to touch, but not needing too. Some won't understand that statement. Some will. But I consider that state of a relationship probably the best one of all.

Oh, I bought my wife a card she can use at one of those day spas. I wanted to give her something she wouldn't give herself but probably wanted.

For myself being here now and being comfortable is probably the best gift of all. Knowing I didn't do it by myself makes it better.

And you know, deep down, I suspect that's probably the best gift I can give those who love me.

Funny how it all works, huh?

"It's a time to look around and be appreciative for all we have and don't have..." what a wonderful way to express your feelings about today. Thank you for posting that. We are having our in-laws over for dinner and expect more family members later on to help devour the leftovers and bring their goodwill along. Our family does not actually exchange gifts as we are all fortunate enough to have everything we need.

But to think about it, the oddest present I ever recall getting for Christmas was about 1992, right after I was married. My wife knew I loved tractors and she surprised me with a little radio control John Deere...however, she didn't realize the panic it would cause our two cats and somehow it disappeared the following day. I never found it again. One of life's little mysteries.

I wish all the TBN members a wonderful Christmas Day, and may we feel grateful for the blessings we have.

Bill

One of my sons gave me a sterling silver PS/2 scrolling mouse engraved with my initials for my computer. Neat little gadget.
