I wasn't crying about refs, only pointing out what anyone would notice who didn't favor either team playing watcing with a "neutral" eye would see (generally one or two calls do not decide the outcome of a game, but can anyone deny that the saints weren't robbed of a playoff game for a PI call?)
Donāt cry about refs. It makes you look small. I cried about the āholdingā call in the Super Bowl and I later regretted it.
The calls were good and, newsflash, part of playing football when you are a ball carrier, is you have to keep your feet in bounds or the play stops where you step out. I learned that early on after 8 years of playing and 15 years of coaching.
And just a quick reminder on the games final drive. The cowboys got 3 calls that advanced them about 60 yards, including a 30yd pass interference call and a very wussified roughing the passer call.
You are one of those closet cowboys fans, I can smell those rats from Broad Street to the Jersey Shore.![]()
As far as the calls being "good" per your comment, yes, easy to see Dak was out of bounds, but why was the hands to the face as well as the PI on the cowboys when the ball could never have been caught called? End of the day, Eagles got the most "favorable" calls (but it still came down to that final drive).
Per the final drive, the pass interference call was a mugging by the eagles defender and a no brainer, and the roughing the passer was iffy at best, but I could see it being called either way. The sad reality is ANY fan can see that for whatever reason, NFL officiating has gone down the tubes this year.
I'm not a cowboys closet cowboys fans. That said, my loyalty is Penn State, and I will admit I actually like M Parsons on the cowboys when he played for PSU (my roomate when I lived on campus a long time ago was the brother of a starting LB who played on a national championship team before the playoffs in college football existed).
As you stated, it was an ugly win by the Eagles. That basically means that the opponent gave the game away IMO which I would agree with.
As I've gotten older, I've realized that football is nothing more than a business, like most other professional sports (one could argue no different than college football). That said, due to my youth growning up, I'll always be an eagles fan, however my eyes are more open now to the business side.
Not many teams fumble 3 times and get all the fumble recoveries back. My fear is the eagles "luck" will sooner or later run out in a playoff game. However, the Eagles true blessing is they have Roseman whereas Dallas has Jones LMFAO!
