I admitted defeat when the Saints lost to the Bucs and earlier in the season you predicted they would meet for a third time with different results. And you say that Neilson ratings mean nothing but tell that to the ones who spend millions on commercials on certain programs due to their ratings. But some people refuse to admit defeat, a common occurrence this season. I used to have a little more respect for your remarks.
(and yes, I am a little more antagonistic this year but hoping I will get better as the virus goes away.)
This is too funny...you seem to think that my comments in regard to TV audiences (AKA Nielsen ratings) have something to do with personal favoritism towards a particular team...Like I said...when it comes to the post season trying to associate a TV audience with particular team loyalty is absurd...!
I really can't believe that you think a particular Saints PLAYOFF game drew an especially large national audience because more national viewers are fond of the Saints...!
In the words of the NFL (in their TV commercial copy) "IT'S THE PLAYOFFS"....
In the past it has often been the case where the intensity of the playoff games has proven to be much more so than in the SB itself...many past SB's have been boring at best
Football fans like to see the best games possible...once the regular season is over and many teams have been eliminated all those fans are going to watch the playoffs...sure they may have new favorites for the post season but there are never competing games...they are aired so all fans can see all the games...(air times and other sporting events may compete for viewers)...
And just so you know...although it may come as a surprise If my home team is not in the competition (regardless of the sport) I generally want a close division/conference competitor to prevail...i.e., if it were say the Saints still in it and not the Bucs I would be a Saint's fan...IMO winning in a powerful division says so much more than winning in a weak one...it was pathetic seeing teams with losing seasons being seeded higher than teams from stronger divisions...that system needs to be changed IMO...
