Let this be a lesson to us all --when you come to a fork in the road, don't try to use it as a weapon.:)

Mo and Tommy"s dispute was set to be handled accordingly, in the roadway on Rowan Road in eastern Iredell County.

But one man brought a BBQ fork to a fistfight, and now both are facing charges, according to an Iredell County Sheriff's Office press release.

Here's what happened, according to the release:

Witnesses told deputies that Michael (Mo) Dwayne England, 51, of Triplett Road, threw a brick through the windshield of a Cadillac owned by Thomas (Tommy) Henry Freeland, 46, of Rowan Road.

Freeland confronted England and words were exchanged. The men agreed to meet at 154 Rowan Road to settle the dispute.

A fight erupted, and at some point England grabbed a BBQ fork and began stabbing Freeland. Freeland suffered multiple stab wounds, and England had facial injuries.

Deputies were called to the scene, along with Iredell County EMS. Both men were transported to Iredell Memorial Hospital and ended up at the Iredell County Detention Center.

England was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and received a $7,500 bond.

Freeland was charged with assault inflicting serious injury and probation violation. He was given a total of $10,000 secured bond.

According to the article, England was the initiator with the brick and the perp with the fork and poor old "Mo" gets the worst of the deal.
