I bought a used 1.5 ton Canadian made Pronovost 503 dump trailer two years ago. It has Carlisle 18 X 8.5 - 8 field tires. They seem to be discontinued, I can't find them listed or any info on them. I would like to know what would be a proper tire pressure. Any idea ?? Thanks.

I built a farm wagon on brand new Horst running gear - 20,000# capacity. I bought new ribbed field tires for it at Les Schwab. They are 11L-15SL 10 ply - - whatever that means. Sidewalls say 42psi - that's what I run them at.

However - now that I opened your picture - those tires are what are sometimes called "super wides". I'd start at 22 to 24 psi and see where that gets you.

You guys are making sense. Thanks. They are a very wide 4 ply tire with a 22 psi max rating. I do fill the trailer and run it on rough trails with mud, roots, and rocks. Thought it would be good to know a reasonable pressure as I have no clue what would be best for those conditions. I've been running about 12 psi based on what was there when I bought it. But that always seemed low even though I've had not trouble.
