what to buy??

I have 2 tractors now, a Ford 9N and a MF T20. Both are in good shape and are good tractors, but they are old and hard to get parts for. I wish to buy a new Kubota but really undecided as to which one. Looking for some help to nudge me in the right direction.

How about a L3130 HST. Probably not too large for 5 acres and it would feel closer in size and weight to your older tractors. If you plan on mostly Fel work, brushogging and not mowing I think you would find The L series more comfortable to use on rough ground and of course more powerful than a B series tractor. I previously owned a B2410 and often use my father's L3710. The L series has one heck of a HST transmission setup. It is smooth and requires little foot pressure compared to the B series. If mowing was your major priority then the B series has less weight and compaction and may be a better choice. Having experience with both B and L series, I would buy a L 3130 or 3430 HST if I had 5 acres instead of my 2 acre lot and were going to use it for duties other than mostly finish mowing.

Tell us more about what you want to do with the tractor.

The new B3030 or a L3430 could work well for you. Really depends on what you want to do, more than the fact that you have 5 acres...

I use the tractors to maintain a gravel road about a half mile long, the driveways for myself and neighbors, and chopping my field and neighbors when we don't have cattle in them. Putting in new ridges for irrigation after the cattle have walked them down. I am the only tractor owner in an 85 acre area so I end doing alot of hey can you stuff also.
