WHAT TO CHOOSE?

Travis,
I don't remember if you were getting a FEL or not. 4wd is awfully handy for loader work. Here in the land of freezing rain, a small load in the bucket and the rears were spinning. I have loaded rears but had no ballast on the 3pth. Now, I realize ice shouldn't be an issue for you but, there are other times you'll like it.
Last summer I was digging a trench the width of the bucket, 30' long and about 3' deep. I had to back up and out to go dump the dirt. I had my tiller on the back for ballast and still needed 4wd. Very handy if you can swing the extra $.

shvl73,

Thanks.

I will not be getting a FEL. I probably could use it sometimes, but it wouldn't be worth the extra $2300 or so. For my application, its just not justifiable.

The more I think about it, I'll probably just go ahead and get the 4WD 2310D IF the tractor is as nice as the YM2310 2WD. I'm thinking that I could use 4WD more than what I'm expecting. Besides, I'll have extra weight with the heavier front-end parts....Not to mention that I currently have 3 front suitcase weights that weigh 50 lbs each.

So, if the YM2310D (haven't seen it yet) is in as good of shape as the YM2310, (both from the same dealer) thats the one I'll go with.

Another thought is, if you want to add a loader in the future, still the right machine for the job.

That is correct.

Now, if I could just sell my Mahindra the new Yanmar would be mine!

Oh, just to add- I finally fixed my Mahindra today (electrical problem). Part (amp meter) came in and I put it on a while ago. Total cost was $40.15 delivered to my door. Not bad at all.

Any pics of unit, and how much you want?

Travis, thanks for the reply. Sounds like a fair price for the tractor. I looked at site you said, that's a lot bigger tractor than what I was expecting. I stopped and looked at a YM2210 near me with FEL. Tractor looks brand new, tires, paint, sheet metal perfect. Only has 628 hrs. Has a Bulldog 238 loader on it, bucket and cylinders, lines, hoses all look good, but loader frame is bent, and broke where it mounts to front part of tractor frame on one side. They have welded reinforcement plate to outside of loader arms, and welded broken loader frame to tractor frame. I might try to deal with them on this. Loader would be junk except for the lightest of work, but all I need is the tractor. I will soon be posting pics of unit for the good folks on the Yanmar forums input, along with what you all think would be a fair price. Good luck with selling your unit.

Well, I have good news and bad news.

Bad news is I sold my Mahindra today. Didn't really want to part with it. I kinda teared up a little when it was going down the driveway on the trailer. I do feel better knowing that the buyer got a heck of a good tractor though.

Good news is that I'll be buying my Yanmar in a couple weeks, or less. Almost for certain that it will be the YM2310, but am working on a deal between 2 very good reputable dealers. Will go with the cheapest one. I will be purchasing a used tiller with it, so that eliminates the need for a set of disks.

Now, if I could just find a good deal on a 5' finish mower (new or used), preferably the Land Pride or Sitrex brand..........

Now you're getting somewhere (cash in hand) !!
I vote for the YM2310-D 4x4 , like Mickey said the resale, and the 4x4 alone is worth it.

Have you checked with LMTC for a machine yet, Wayne always has some nice YMs in stock.

Ernie,

No I haven't checked with Wayne at LMTC yet. Have been planning on giving him a call but have honestly not had the time. I think i'm gonna try in a few minutes.

As for as 4x4, I really don't need it. I guess it just depends on what kind of deal I get though will be the deciding factor.

Thanks,
Travis
