What tool did Santa bring you?

I do make sure all the kids are covered and that Mom has presents for everyone too.

I need to spend more.time exploring their tool section. I've never heard of that brand. I looked them up on Amazon and the model with the spring and comfort grip was just a little more money.

Thomas - every spring I thin my stands of young Ponderosa pines. Usually around 900 small trees. They are 6" in diameter or less on the base. I used my larger Stihl chain saw( MS270 ) with a 20" bar. I found that this situation became dangerous. As the day progressed, I would tire. My arms droop. Finally, the tip of the chain saw would make contact with my boots. A REALLY bad situation.

Now I do the same job with my new, lighter, shorter Stihl MS192 and a 12 inch bar. Cuts just as fast, I might have to bend over a tad more, my toes are now in the "safe zone".

Santa DID bring new toys. I bought a couple new chains for the 192. AND my son has decided that the spring project - identify, cut, drag, pile, chip - is not such a bad job after all. He has helped the old man the last two years. Still, dragging & piling is a PITS of a job.

For as many as you are doing, I would look at a larger straight shaft weedeater (such as the FS110 or whatever the current equivalent to that is) and put their chainsaw blade on it. It is a round disc with what looks like a piece of chainsaw chain around the outside. That along with a dual shoulder harness would let you cut them down without bending over at all.

2 Single Malts, 1kg tub of gummy bears (I am hopelessly addicted to those), 6 lobster tails that I am going to BBQ tonight, I don't even like them, pair of surf sandals, couple of shirts and a lick from the dogs.
Female German Shepherd has just had 9 pups, SWMBO put them on my ;lap lastnight and Mum just sat and looked at me with her tail wagging looking pleased with herself.

Pretty impressive that it cut that bolt. Might be a good tool to get for cutting fencing!!!

Not 'might be'... is! For fence wire it's the proverbial "hot knife through butter".

The only hold back is justifying the cost of the tool. I spotted a similar tool at the check-out of a local Ag-store (like candy displays at the grocery store = impulse buying)... I almost bought it until I saw the price! :shocked: Fencing, for me, is simply the odd repair so I really couldn't justify the cost at the time. As I said earlier, I did, eventually, get a less expensive style/action one from my local hardware shop; much easier than using fencing pliers.

James, I got part way through a youtube video on this thing and I still don't know what I would ever do with it but I can tell if I did, I might be dancing too! :confused3: :cool2:

unless you build, maintain, and try to constantly improve antennas in the range of 1 to 55 MHZ, you wouldn't have any use for it. I really loved it clear graphics, and easy to use and understand operating system. It is made in Ukraine.
