Then you been luckier than some of us.
I got the 'opportunity' to dismantle a large portion of the fuel system on one of my tractors a while back.. while miles from nowhere out in the field.. At least the diesel pouring all over me kept most of the ants offa me when i was laying inthe sand under it trying to get it going vs walking home. Could only get sell service when standing on top of rops / canopy holding phone straight up, snatching it down to talk.
If I hadn'ta fixed it.. I'da been walking about 4 miles to get help. I'm GLAD I carry the tools I listed in my post.. and they fit pretty neatly into that cramped CNH box on the side o' the tractor bellhousing..

Hmm.. the only thing I've heard of refered to a sweedish pliers are dykes ( diagonals for all you non electrical types ).
Course' i freely admit to not owning a lot of specialized tools except electronic stuff... so can someone shed some light on this?

Extra pins for 3 pt attachment and top link, those seem to fly off my tractor at the worse time possible!

I don't know why I found myself cracking up reading about your miserable experience......I suppose because it reminds me so much of the many times i've seemed to be in the same type situation!!! The moral to your story is ....... you can never have too many tools with you and will probably never have enough at any one given time.

That particular day was funny, after the fact. And yes.. the diesel that poured all down my arms while i was putting it back together DID keep MOST of the ants off me. And.. as a bonus.. there was enough diesel left in my tank to drive home. However.. i nearly kille dthe battery trying to bleed the system and restart it. When she finally did start.. I'm pretty sure it was the last 'rev' the battery had in her... I was REAL glad that day...
Of course.. i got to do it all over again later.. as i buggered up an oring on the fuel line at the tank which ultimately required me to take it apart 2x more times as the first repalcement oring they gave me disolved in about a day.. the 2nd one i made sure to get a buena-N ( nitrile ) fuel rated oring.. it's been fine for nearly a year now...
