What tractor/loader to buy

Vince,

I was thinking the same thing. With three Kioti warehouses stocked with parts here in the USA parts should not be an issue. Kioti should be moving into (or already moved into) their new 180,000 square foot facility in NC for even better parts distrubution.

Filb, I'm only going to comment on the LB1914. I think the price is a little high for that TLB. I purchased my CK20 HST TLB and Boxblade for $16,681. I would think you should be able to get the LB for $1000-1500 less. There should be no problem getting parts, and Kioti parts are NOT very expensive, as someone posted a few days ago, they only had to pay $11.00 for a replacement cooling fan blade. A shaft for an older Kioti brought into my dealer's place was only $35. I was shocked at such good prices compared to some others. The LB1914 seems to be a great tractor, but I wanted HST and liked the sloping hood etc etc. of the CK20HST. Good luck and let us know how it goes as you narrow down your choices. John

Take a look at Power Trac www.power-trac.com. The 1430 is 30HP diesel, articulated, many attachments and in your price range. Our 1430 is the most in demand machine we have.

I am also in a similar situation to you and am located in MA. I have a 1/2 acre lot but have significant landscaping that I want to do as well as bury drainage pipes, dig a garage foundation and put in new driveway. I have also spent some considerable time researching all my options, renting vs. buying, new vs old etc. I sat down and did some rough estimates on my rental costs based on the amount of work I got done with a Terramite that I rented a while back - which by the way is potentially another option for you - check out www.terramite.com - and have come to the conclusion that I am going to buy a sub compact TLB tractor. The two that I have seen so far that stand out are the Kubota BX23 and the Massey Ferguson GC2310TLB. The dealer in NH I talked to wanted $15,900 for the BX23 and the Massey dealer in NH I talked to wanted $16,400 for the GC2310. I am currently leaning towards the BX23 because the dealer is much closer and the tractor seems to be very popular. I like the Massey a lot too though - I think it has something to do with that red paint.

Do a search for both of these tractors. Find out which one has the most problems and go from there. $500.00 is nothing when your spending 15 grand. G

I havent been able to find anything (yet) that refers to either the BX23 or the GC2310 having any problems. I have to do some more searching though - maybe I just havent found it yet. My instinct is to go with the Kubota - but that is based mostly on their reputation and the fact that the dealers are much more prevalent and closer than the Massey dealer. I do like the GC2310 though - on paper the specs are slightly better and I just like the tractor a little bit more than the BX23. The one major advantage that I saw with the BX23 over the GC2310 was the bucket on the BX23 - it had replaceable teeth that looked significantly beefier than the GC2310 teeth - and the bucket itself looked beefier too. I see from your posting you have a Kioti CK20 - how do you like that? I am heading over to the Kioti dealer this morning to take a look. From some of the postings here it appears that I could get the CK20 with a backhoe and loader for around the same price as either the BX23 or the GC2310.
