That 4105 is in my radar for sure, I'm not looking for anything fancy, I love my little Massey but I don't care for the dealer.. I do everything on it myself or with the help of my brother.. I will have to compare the 4105 and similar Kubota, lucky for me the Deere and Kubota dealer is one in the same..
The 4105 is what I run and I bought it new. I have the 300CX loader on it and the tractor (with ballast) handles round bales without complaint. I've also raked & tedded without a problem. I myself haven't noticed excessive HST whine with mine... but every tractor has its idiosyncrasies (people too, for that matter
Personally, it's a great bare-bones 41ph tractor that surprises me with what it can do. The Yanmar donk is simple to maintain and the fuel/oil filters are simple to cross-reference. I did go with the Deere hydraulic filter & HyGard hydraulic fluid when I changed that at the 400hr mark. You won't get a custom anti-vibration deck mat, or cruise control or even a cab though. It does have power steering (hydraulic) though, and the FEL joystick is in the perfect operating position for me.
I could carry on singing the praises of my rig but the other thing that should be brought up is the Dealership that you buy from. I'm talking any 'colour' Dealership. You've already found that you don't care for the MF Dealership you bought your 1705 from... so, talk to your neighbours and your brother's neighbours as to which Dealerships have the best reputation in your area. They're the ones who are going to back you up in parts & service.
Good luck, Mate, and feel free to PM me if you have anymore 4105 questions.
