I will tell the wife she can drive it,and the 500 should be taking care of in a cple days:D

Good idea. The 500 miles allows the gearing to be worn in properly.

I pull my gl 3540 with my 08 chevy 3500 srw allison/duramax. The allison is the way to go for towing and the new models have a factory jake brake! You will be able to buy one sweet ride with 55k!

Well put the tractor and sprayer and went and helped with the firer(well dropped it at the in-laws in case the firer went that way and got on a VFD brush truck and helped) the truck pulls great fuel mileage well that sucked around 16/17 by the computer doing 75mph down interstate, but I can say that I almost forgot it was back there, and the jake brake is nice.Well just giving an update have pics will post later.Flynn firer just has hot spots inside burned area but all is good(total acre burned 5000+lost some homes and an old historic church but everyone is safe). Hope everyone is safe and if someone needs place to keep cattle cause the firer,I can help.......

With the loads you are talking, even your tractors, it is really going to labor a gasser. Gassers are for CUT's and SCUT's. You are looking at what appears to be a 10k towing load at a minimum. With the tractor + trailer.

Hehe, any time trucks a pulling power are discussed, I just laugh at the numbers. Currently the big diesels are rated for around 20,000 lbs. I'd love to know how that rating is determined. I'm not disputing the power of today's engines or recommendations here. But....

My dad had a '73 Dodge club cab 3/4 ton w/ a 360 gas, 4 speed. We had a 14 foot 5th wheel grain trailer. Routinely, we'd pull on the scale and it would be 27,000 lbs. It took a while to get there, but it would pull at 55 mph. The biggest load I ever saw on it was when I hand-massaged a load of wheat coming out of the combine. I pulled onto the scale and jumped out of the cab. The scale registered 29,960 and I wasn't a 40lb string bean. 30,000 lbs on the road for a pickup. 20,000? Gimme a break! :)
