In 1978 I was a young teenage boy when the $1.98 Beauty Show aired. It was created by Chuck Barris who also created The Dating Game and The Newlywed Game as well as hosting The Gong Show. $1.98 showed a lot of skin for the day, and is a reason a 14-year-old boy would watch

I probably watched every episode as a kid and didn't need glasses until about 43 years old, (readers), so I guess it's a delayed reaction. I recommend looking away at certain times
