What type of wax to use on a table saw??????????

Sorry I'm late on this but I remember that "Wood" magazine did a comparative test some time ago on rust cleaners and preventatives. I think the T-9 and Rust Free finished right up there at the top.

My shop is prone to moisture problems too. I clean and dry the iron, use Top Coat, and hang a 100 watt drop light over it. No more rust there.

Gee...after casting my vote for Johnson's, I go down to the wood shop and what do I see on the shelf on top of the almost empty Johnson's can?

Minwax Paste Finishing Wax.

Now I am /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif a bit. Don't know why I have the MinWax...I guess it has no silicone in it...did I read about it in a magazine while the wife was shopping a while back, I wonder?

Anyone know? I sure don't.... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Jim; CRC Table Gaurd works for me. I use it on my tablesaw, bandsaw, and drillpress. Another thing that may help is to put a little heat in your storage area, I think it helps to dehumidify the air /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My saw usually resides in my heated garage. I have it in the barn now so that we can finish the barn/house project next door where my daughter will be moving in hopefully next year. I don't like moving the saw 200 yards every day to use it. The barn is 36'x60' 2 story and too big to heat.

Jim; I don't think I'd be moving my tablesaw either /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif. CRC, I think it's them, also sells abrasive rust erasers that remove rust very well. They come in 3 different grits, and really put a shine on Delta cast iron. I had some rust on my saw, and after using this stuff, it actually looks better than it did when I first bought it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I don't think I'd let the rust get to the point to where it starts pitting too badly, but a little bit of surface rust is pretty easy to remove. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

BTW; Great job on that barn! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
