What was the FIRST tractor you ever drove?

Farmall cub with cultivators and fertilizer hoppers.
I had just mastered walking and had been watching dad real close about this tractor driving thing. Didn稚 figure it could be any trickier than walking, heck you didn稚 even need to keep your balance!
He was off in the garden and the cub was at the end of the row ,just parked there . I climbed up, pulled out the ignition button and pulled the starter rod. Luckily it was in gear cause I was years away from reaching the pedals !
Never saw dad run so fast ! My driving career came to an abrupt end but I was hooked for life. Once I grew into the pedals there was no stopping me! Must have been 1960 or so.

Grey Ferguson diesel when I was about 12, nasty little thing that did wheel stands just like the one I have now ((which is why it just sits idle), in a matter of a couple of weeks I progressed to a Fordson Major which I thought was huge, more power and a lot more predictable.

I was just shy of 5 and would go up and down the windrows while the adults fork loaded the hay previously mowed with the sickle bar mower... being little was a definite advantage!

1950 Steyr Type 80, 15 hp single cylinder diesel with crank start... if it was cold you lit a bunt glow plug and screwed it into the cylinder head before cranking...

From that summer on the farm I was hooked... tried many times to get my cousin to part with it but so far no luck... maybe one day.

The sound of single cylinder diesel is quite unique...

My grandfather's Case don't remember much about it but it was the first rubber tired in county and my dad also had a cat 15 crawler we used to plow the garden
