We have a similar problem in France, very thin inventory. And people wonder why people shop on Amazon, at least on Amazon chances are you will find what you want in stock. I live in a city of 45,000 and driving distance to the second largest city in France, Marseille, there is a big shopping center with big box stores and it is always the same, to low of inventory. When I lived in the USA I LOVED my Locally owned Ace Hardware store because I knew if I needed something it would be in stock. In retail there is a lot to be said for ordering adequate stock.
