I didn't think about that, Jack. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif The room already had that green wall-to-wall carpet, and we laid 3/4" foam backed rubber (2' square interlocking "tiles") on top of it everywhere except right in front of the doors.

Nice job! I spent all Saturday morning spraying stain on my cedar house and then all afternoon hoping the rain wouldn't ruin it. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif ...it turned out fine. Whew! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Great job Bird...... while you were in there, did you try out any of the weight lifting equipment. On another thought, there are a lot of people here at TBN that have concrete work projects planned. You could rent him out for additional practice till he becomes fond of concrete work..... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif A trade is a good thing to have to fall back on if your planned occupation doesn't pan out... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It's funny about liking physical exertion aka enjoying hard work. Once you find it fun in a perverted kind of way you're ruined for life. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I decided some time ago that my enjoying it came in part from listening to my own father talk about those who did it well over our supper table. I suspect the respect and admiration he had in his voice for them was something that I wanted him to have for me.

Of course I was young then and didn't know he'd love me no matter what. That's what fathers do.

I'll bet you'll put a light in his eyes that will last for awhile with what you've done for him in the room. And blue and silver is a good combination of colors, especially in norte tejas.

Jim, I'm surprised you were able to apply any paint or stain outdoors this past weekend and not have the rain ruin it. We had rain off and on from around noon Friday until yesterday morning. Even indoors, the paint dried slower than expected. I'm hoping it stays dry enough to mow tomorrow.

You're really lucky to have your grandchildren close enough to be able watch and help them grow up.

Make sure you take a picture of the grandson's face when he sees the room for the first time. But you'll want to be standing off to the side, because the smile on his face will be so big that the glare of the flash off of his teeth will blind the camera! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Great Job Bird! When I was that age, working out was a passion. Used to wrestle, so we were always in the gym. Difference was that my 'weight room' was the back corner of my Dad's garage where it was either 5 degrees or 105 degrees, and I had to watch out for the occasional falling paint can/implement.
