I always have trouble removing my (small) HST oil filter on my class 3 (TC35D) because of the tight clearance between the loader frame and the oil pan. It sits up at least 3" and only has 1/4" clearance between the loader frame and the filter. Have you found a wrench that will reach up there and grab the filter? I have tried 3 or 4 end cap types and they all seem to slip. There is not room for a strap. What do you use and does it really work? Thanks Frank

I use a snap-on strap wrench on mine

A cheap strap wrench off the K-D rack at NAPA is all I ever used. When I was at the dealership I changed many more of those filters on Class III tractors than yours will ever need.

I have done that more than I care to admit, but I just bought one of the tools shown in the attachment and haven't had a chance to try it yet. I've been using a strap wrench and ratchet like RickB noted most of the time. :)

I've found a " 2'' TO 4-1/4'' OIL FILTER WRENCH " at Harbor Freight
to get at some of the tightest places a strap on won't get.

Great information here! I'm going to check out Harbor Freight.

I must admit, I've used "Jinman's Universal Oil Filter Removal Tool" on more than one occassion.
