If he thinks the backhoe is worth $7500 or 75% of purchase prie, then why is the tractor worth 95% of purchase price. I think 75-80% is a more reasonable number, Even if it is low hours, some of the warranty is gone from a time standpoint. And you loose the benefit of the new dealer relationship.

Could you wrap the price of the tractor and equipment into the sales price of the farm so that the new owner would then have the equipment needed to take care of his new place. Just an idea.

What Ranger Rick said is a good tactic. Give your potential buyer that option. If not, how about a local farm auction? You can set your reserve accordingly.

I have let the realtor know that I am open to offers on the tractor/implements to be sold with the property. I've sold some of my implements to a fella that I know that runs an auction company so if it comes down to it I may just get him to give me a price on everything that isn't included with the sale of the farm and see what kind of a lump sum price he'll give me so I won't have to mess with moving it, meeting with sellers, and selling it piece by piece. I've got a few months I'm sure so I'll just get into this slowly......there's no reason to get all in a hurry.

I gave $30,000 for this one with 100hrs on it. Had two remotes, rear wiper washer, washer fluid in the rear tires, excellent condition. Dealer said he sold it new for $35,000. Hope this helps..........................
