What would be your companion tractor? (It is okay to dream here)
I made the mistake of buying bulldozers, and I realized too late that they were not good companion tractors to my Kubota. Neither have my skidders...
With the bulldozers, they had tracks, but still pushed and pulled. And the skidder has tires, but also just pushes and pulls. What I really need though is an excavator that has tracks to go through mud and brush, but yet also digs. This is more complimentary to my tired tractor that pulls and pushes using wheels.
So that will be my next machine: an excavator.
But I could also REALLY use a dragline. I got an 8 acre gravel pit, but the gravel is mostly located below the water table. I can legally dig it, but need a machine that can go pretty deep. A Dragline would be ideal! But I could also use it to clear some land from forest back into field, and build a big pond I would like to dig. I am not a huge Caterpillar fan, but an 8750 Cat Dragline would work pretty well for what I need! (LOL)
