Make yourself a sturdy utility cart for it, on which it lives and gives you convenient portability and a platform for fastening and linking up to a variety of driven devices as the needs arise. A 300A welding generator. a big pump, blower, AC generator, others mentioned in the thread.

hmmm... cement mixer would be handy for sure. problem is finding the broken and abused mixer in the scrap pile to mate to the engine. as with some of the other uses, too many complex parts as compared to how many parts i could fabricate myself.

i live in an area (the whole state for that matter) with very little industry, compared to other parts of the country. being lucky enough to find useable scrap and used machinery around here isn't always the easiest feat. often, when a place goes out of business or sells off surplus, there's already been someone with an inside track that gets to the good stuff.

i was lucky enough to snag a pair of forklift tines last month for $30 at the local scrap yard, but that's been it. i've even been looking for months for a good used drill press, and possibly a small ironworker, with no luck yet. there's loads of stuff on ebay, but most is at least several hundred miles away, if not on the other coast.
